Rev-lite Switch is used to help treat:

The science:

RevLite is unique using Q-switched engineering which produces very rapid, short pulse widths of energy, limiting the healthy tissue’s exposure to thermal build-up for safe, fast and effective treatment.

This Photo-Acoustic effect forces energy that vibrates and shatters target molecules.

The Revlite system is designed to remove signs of ageing and sun damage, while stimulating the development of new collagen, resulting in firmer, more youthful skin in the treatment area.

The treatment is a gentle beam of light which passes through the upper layer of skin. Its heat stimulates collagen growth deep beneath the skin. The effects will continue even after treatment and the difference can be seen once the fine lines are filled with new collagen. It will also cause the pigmented areas on the face to break up and re-absorb into the skin, thus lightening or even eliminating the skin from pigmentation.

  • Pigmentation – the laser energy gets absorbed by the pigments (usually brown, or grey in colour). These pigmentation break off into smaller fragments and are naturally cleared away by the body and skin.

  • Acne marks – acne marks are caused by inflammation (the redness and pain) from pimples. The inflammation causes the skin to produce pigments. These pigments are cause of acne marks, which can be effectively removed with the laser.

  • Fairer skin – the colour of our skin is also determined by the amount of skin pigments. Darker skin people or people who go sun tanning often have more skin pigments. The laser, at the correct setting, helps lighten the skin tone and makes it fairer and brighter.

  • Skin rejuvenation – the laser uses its energy to remove dirt, dead skin cells, oil and superficial facial hair. Take this as a quick, effective and multi-purposed medical facial!

  • Pimples and acne – the laser energy can also kill P-acne, which is the bacteria that cause pimples and acne. At the same time, the laser energy also shrinks the oil glands in the skin and helps with oil control. Pimples and acne also tend to be less inflamed after laser treatments and this reduces the amount of acne marks after a breakout.

  • Tattoo removal – tattoo inks are foreign pigments introduced into the body. Like natural skin pigmentations, the laser energy breaks down the tattoo ink and removes the tattoo.

FAQ:

Does it hurt?

The laser energy feels like many tiny hot dots on your skin. The process is very tolerable.

What can I expect afterwards?

If you are having pigment treatment like ‘liver spots’ you can expect darkening for 7-10 days before your natural exfoliation occurs. Breakouts can be flarred for a few days and we advise to use ‘physahex’ cleanser for 2 days post and no makeup for 24-48 hours.

Redness subsides very quickly post treatment.

Can I get Q-Switched Laser done if I am pregnant?

Yes! The laser is non-ablative and does not interfere with your pregnancy

I’m on Accutane. Can I still do Q-Switched?

You can – as the Q-Switched isn’t an ablative laser, it doesn’t thin your skin and you can do it while you are on Roaccutane.

How many treatments will I need?

Every client, and every skin, is different. We recommend for pigment to start around 4 treatments every 3-4 weeks. Breakouts 4 treatments every 4 weeks then maintenance. It is an amazing ‘maintenance’ treatment for all skin concerns so being used in conjunction with other treatments is the perfect plan.

Is it safe?

Q-Switched Laser Treatment is a gentle alternative, and requires less sessions than skin resurfacing procedures to achieve similar results. Thus, reducing the chances of side effects greatly. It does not cause the skin to become thinner.
